Here are some sketches of how to represent various plants/elements of vegetation in landscape drawing plans. It is a list with the most commune used: trees deciduous or evergreen, bush cut or free-form, in groups or solitaire.

Fantasy medieval city

Sometimes people feel like creating their own reality, so mine seems to be a fantasy medieval city. Without even knowing what I wanted to sketch in terms of style, shapes and atmosphere, I let my pencil flow on the sheet of paper and so I created an image of an medieval landscape drawn from my "Visual Libary", which seems to be influenced by Asian culture. Creating your own landscapes could reflect upon what you love and one might discover his true self in the process.

Lost and forgotten gardens in Bucharest

Every big city takes pride in one ore two public spaces, that eventually become memorable and iconic for that particular city. I've spent my fair share of trips wondering through gardens and parks like Hyde park in London, Tuileries gardens in  Paris, Eduardo VII Park in Lisbon, and Cismigiu Gardens in Bucharest. But what happens with the ones that disappear?

I found a publication at home, about lost and forgotten gardens in Bucharest, a research conducted by one of my teachers at the Urbanism Faculty, conf. dr. arh. Cerasella Craciun.(Find out more at http://www.cerasellacraciun.ro/cercetare.html) It is a very admirable effort in trying to locate and describe the gardens, as much as possible, but what I discovered was the fact that, even though other establishments and properties occupied them, which is regretable, at least we find out a specific characteristic about the Romanian garden. Wheather it was a private property, or a public one, the Romanian gardens were always a place of parties and feast, a space for theatrical happenings and events (except the church's gardens, of course).

It is a delightful read, which I recommand, with interesting facts about how some gardens passed on their name to certain public/private spaces. Also, how some were partly preserved, for instance "Raşca" Garden, was situated on the grounds of the University of Architecture and Urbanism "Ion Mincu"of today, and in present times, an interior garden exists (but not open to the public, and in pour condition unfortunatly).

Reglementari generale cu elemente de regulament

 Iata un exemplu de Plan urbanistic zonal pentru spatiile verzi. Aceasta a fost intocmit pe asa numita Delta Vacaresti, in Bucuresti. Este doar un exemplu de planse de intocmire reglementari cu elemente de regulament  si reglementari pe vegetatie. P.U.Z-ul reglementeaza impartirea pe unitati teritoritoriale de referinta, si diferite grade de protectie, in cadrul zonei studiate. La aceste planse este atasata partea scrisa in care se indica gabarite maxime construite, profilul (caracterul functional) si amplasamentul in cadrul utr-urilor fiind marcat in plansele de mai jos.

Printre elementele de importanta majora in cadrul reglementarilor se numara indicarea directiilor pe care le vor avea circulatiile principale si secundare, cat si accesele, cu indicarea zonelor de parcare. 

De retinut, ca orice P.U.Z, trebuie sa contina o schema de regim juridic si obiectivele de utilitate publica.

Reglementari pe vegetatie

 Reglementarile pe vegetatie indica masivele de vegetatie, accentele de culoare si volumetrice; aliniamentele cu sectiunile lor in care se mentioneaza volumetria speciilor, sau alteori chiar specificandu-se speciile. Toate aceastea determina anumite trasee si caracterele lor, dar si frecventa cu care aceastea se vor schimba. De asemenea, se precizeaza vegetatia existenta ce va fi protejata si zone  in care este admisa inlocuirea lor. In acelasi timp, prin reglementari se vor stabili ponderile vegetatiei decorative iarna (raportul conifere-foioase).

Amenajarea ficarei unitati teritoriale de referinta (exemplu UTR. zona de belvedere si promenada) a fost realizata de fiecare membru al echipei din faza de reglementare. Se poate spune ca aceasta este faza in care am aplicat reglementarile, dar in acelasi timp am adoptat stilul individual de amenajare.

Directiile de circulatie au devenit alei si plaforme conform conceptului abordat. In cazul utr-ului zona de belvedere si promenada, care reprezinta zona indiguita a lacului Vacaresti, s-a adoptat un concept legat de sustenabilitate si argicultura urbana, care sa sustina economic activitatile de relaxare si losir, dar in acelasi timp actionand ca o bariera de protectie pentru zona protejata din interiorul lacului Vacaresti.

Maniere de reprezentare in desenul de peisagistica

Drawing on the landscape architectural varies from architectural drawings through colors and textures. Even when drawing a ground floor plan it has to be vibrant and express a state. Surely, it starts with a concept, a color, an idea sketched on paper before you reach the final design. In this article I will illustrate several ways or techniques of landscape design representation to show both the approach and the many techniques that deserve experienced before adopting a particular style and technique to reprezent you.

I think there isn't any correct answer to the question: how to start a landscaping? Is it with the plan, section or three-dimensional image. The fact is that all three dimensions must be considered simultaneously, and most importantly tailored to site requirements / existence.

No matter how you want to start, it is essential to represent the way that you are most comfortable with. For starters I will illustrate techniques such as hand drawing, ink, pen / Flaur and watercolor. Drawing by hand will always express plasticity, and regardless of the solution it will draw the viewer into a state of closeness and warmth. This type of design is especially recommended to show ideas in a development concept, to express the atmosphere of the space created.

Desenul in peisagistica se diferentiaza de cel arhitectural prin culoare si texturi. Chiar si cand desenezi un plan de amenajare trebuie sa fie vibrant si sa exprime o stare. Sigur ca totul porneste de la un concept, o culoare, o idee de inceput pe care o schitezi pe hartie inainte de a ajunge la amenajarea propriu-zisa. Am sa exemplific in acest articol mai multe maniere sau tehnici de reprezentare in desenul din peisagistica pentru a arata atat demersul cat si multitudinea de tehnici ce merita experimentate inainte de a adopta un stil anume si tehnica ce te reprezinta.

Nu cred ca exista un raspuns corect la intrebarea: de unde pornesc o amenajare? de la plan, sectiune sau de la imaginea tridimensionala. Cert este ca pentru o amenajare toate cele trei dimensiuni trebuie gandite concomitent, si cel mai important adaptate la cerintele sitului/ existentului.

Indiferent cum doresti sa incepi, este esential modul de reprezentare cu care esti cel mai confortabil. Pentru inceput am sa exemplific desenul de mana in tehnici precum- tus, carioca/ flaur si acuarela. Desenul de mana va exprima intotdeauna plasticitate, si indiferent de solutia propriu-zisa va atrage privitorul intr-o stare de apropiere si caldura. Acest tip de desen este recomandat in special pentru a arata ideile de concept intr-o amenajare, dar mai ales pentru a exprima atmosfera spatiului creat.

And then I will show how the same design can look in a technical manner, realistic, plastic or by using different computer programs. Technical drawing can convey a very strong invitation to the trained eye in reading landscape / urban plans/ maps. Sections are best suited for this type of manner adopted. (both stairs and 1:1000, and 1: 100, 1:50) And Plastic manners realistic prove valuable for any piece (plan, section, performed, axonometric, perspective, technical detail) used in the ladscape project.

Iar ulterior, voi arata cum acelasi desen poate arata intr-o maniera tehnica, plastica sau realistica utilizand diferite programe pe calculator. Desenul tehnic poate transmite o invitatie foarte puternica ochiului antrenat in citirea de planuri peisagistice/ urbanistice. Sectiunile se preteaza cel mai bine pentru acest tip de maniera adoptata. (atat la scari precum 1:1000, cat si 1: 100, 1:50) Iar manierele plastica si realistica se dovedesc valoroase pentru orice tip de piesa (plan, sectiune, desfasurata, axonometrie, perspectiva, detaliu tehnic) folosita in proiectul de peisagistica.
